The Operational Technology team sits within Capability Development in Technology Command. Capability Development leads on specifying, designing, developing, delivering and supporting new technical capabilities (operational, business, back office and corporate) across the agency. We are currently looking to recruit G4 Infrastructure Engineer.

In a team of IT professionals, the infrastructure engineer will be using their skills and expertise to support the development, maintenance and enhancement of technical capabilities, participate in building new services on multiple platforms while maintaining core functionality and providing technical guidance for colleagues across the Unit. This role will also involve gathering and recording customer requirements within the agency for remote Intelligence applications and to define detailed requirements and also managing software
defect to ensure they are tracked, investigated and corrected. Candidates will also be responsible for managing defects ensuring they are tracked, investigated and corrected while managing the lifecycle of their own projects and those of others to include design, testing, change, deployment and acceptance management.

The ideal candidate will have possess knowledge of the Cisco network infrastructure in order to deal with support, maintenance and upgrades, experience of Microsoft MSCP 2nd and 3rd line support and Oracle database administrator and Windows and network infrastructure in order to deal with the support, maintenance and upgrades. In addition the ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics (or equivalent relevant experience, and also a good working understanding of network principles.
