In Defra, we deal with a vast range of issues that profoundly impact on people’s lives. We are responsible for England’s environment, countryside and rural economy, the food and farming sectors and have a lead responsibility for protection from a wide range of natural threats and hazards. Defra is one of the lead departments in delivering a successful exit from the European Union (EU). Leaving the EU will fundamentally change the work we do and how we deliver it.
The Director of Defra’s EU-Exit Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is responsible for collaboratively leading a portfolio of programmes or projects that will ensure the safe and ambitious delivery of EU Exit and the wider Defra objectives. They are primarily responsible for ensuring optimal delivery of all EU exit work and the department’s strategic objectives in Projects and Programmes in line with government priorities.
This is a key senior leadership role within the department. You will play a central role in developing and implementing Defra group’s EU-Exit strategy, as well as driving change across the Directorate and Arm’s Length Bodies through effective prioritisation and resource management.
