Working within Global Platforms to provide IT maintenance, support, and software delivery mechanisms to ensure Aviva has reliable and trusted services and can move forward with its Digital aspirations. The Platform area manages the controlled, reliable and predictable delivery of change within a complex and shifting environment across multiple platforms and teams.
Group Protection, Pensions & Investment Platforms:
Within this team our Annuity system manages the smooth payment of over £2bn annually to people who rely on Aviva for an income in retirement; and our Unisure system takes over £3.3bn in annual premiums and enables us to manage over £41bn of assets.
We are seeking a gifted SQL Server DBA to work on the administration and development of our SQL Server database environment. You should have a skill set that encompasses:

Key aspects of the role:
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be comfortable working with our customers to understand how they use our data, and help find ways to remove bureaucracy and friction.
You’ll be self-motivated and keen to develop your career and do great work! And also be a strong team-player who is able and willing to roll-up their sleeves to support and nurture others when required.
You will provide technical leadership to the team regarding the SQL Server Database that is core to our Unisure platform.
You will ensure that the database, around 12Tb in size, can cope with ever increasing load, and that the database meets or surpasses industry best practice and remains compliant with Aviva policies, legislation and regulation.
Salary: £30,650 - £59,050 – dependent on skills & experience.
